This 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL was reportedly purchased new by the current owner’s mother and was acquired by the current owner in 1997. The car is powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in blue over red leather. Equipment includes a beige convertible top, 13″ steel wheels with body-color hubcaps, and an analog clock. This 190SL is now offered on dealer consignment with manufacturer’s literature and a clean Massachusetts title.

The car was repainted blue in the 1990s and features a replacement beige soft top as well as a red top boot. Additional equipment includes a driver-side mirror and a bright windshield surround, grille, and bumpers. Various noted paint cracks are shown in the image gallery.

Steel 13″ wheels wear chrome trim rings, hubcaps with body-color accents, and 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The car is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension, rear swing axles with coil springs, and power-assisted drum brakes. The rear brakes were serviced and the rear trailing arm bushings were replaced in January 2019.

The cabin features low-back bucket seats upholstered in red leather as well as matching door panels and dashboard trim. Amenities include lap belts, an analog clock, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. The radio is inoperative.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 22k miles, which the seller notes is not accurate. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1.9-liter M121 inline-four was factory rated at 104 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque. The carburetors were adjusted and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission.
