This 1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider Veloce was purchased by the seller in 2010 and subsequently underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2012. The replacement 1,779cc inline-four was rebuilt, rust repairs were performed, and the body was sprayed in red. The car is equipped with a black soft top with matching boot as well as dual Weber carburetors, a five-speed manual transmission, 14″ steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, a CD stereo, and black-upholstered bucket seats. This S1 Spider is now offered with a Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The rocker panels were replaced, rust repairs were performed, and the body was finished in its current shade of red during the refurbishment. Exterior features include a replacement black retractable soft top, a convertible top boot, a driver-side mirror, and a single exhaust outlet. The seller believes the car was damaged in an accident previously and notes that an area above the right-rear tire needs work. Photos below show blemishes ahead of the left door as well as tears in the rear window.
The 14″ steel wheels wear bright hubcaps and are mounted with Goodyear Integrity tires, and a full-size spare is located in the trunk. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at each corner. Work under current ownership has included replacing the steering box, shocks, brake rotors, and brake boosters.
The bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl and an aftermarket sound system consists of a CD stereo and door-mounted speakers. The seat bottoms were replaced under current ownership. The upper dash pad is cracked and wear is seen on the left door panel.
Instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 98k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership. The seller does not believe the odometer is accurate.
The car is equipped with a replacement 1,779cc inline-four that was reportedly rebuilt in 2011 by London Auto Services in Falls Church, Virginia, and it features dual Weber carburetors. The fuel tank and heater core have also been replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. A replacement exhaust system has been fitted.
The Virginia title carries a “Not Actual” odometer brand and lists “OS” under the other pertinent data section.
