This 1964 Studebaker Daytona convertible was produced at the carmaker’s Hamilton, Ontario, plant, and was reportedly delivered new to Stark’s Motor Sales of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was imported to the US under previous ownership, and was purchased by the current owner in 2023. The car is finished in gold over gold and brown upholstery, and power comes from a 289ci R1 V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a four-barrel carburetor, a dual exhaust, power-assisted steering and brakes, quad headlights, a spotlight, a power-operated black soft top, air conditioning, front bucket seats, lap belts, and an AM radio. This Studebaker Daytona is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean Minnesota title in the owner’s name.

Brooks Stevens redesigned the Lark body for 1964 as Studebaker replaced the nameplate with the Challenger, Commander, Daytona, and Cruiser models. This example is finished in gold, and features chrome bumpers and bodyside molding, quad headlights, a hood ornament, “Avanti R1-Powered” fender badges, a spotlight, a power-operated black soft top, and a dual-exit exhaust with chrome down-turned exhaust tips.

White-painted 15″ steel wheels wear chrome covers and are mounted with 205/75 Firestone whitewall radial tires. A spare wheel is stowed under a houndstooth cover in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted drums at all four corners.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in gold vinyl, while brown and gold door panels are fitted and brown carpets line the floors. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, and front and rear lap belts.

The two-tone steering wheel features a chrome semi-circular horn ring, and it frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 4,600 miles, approximately 250 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 289ci R1 V8 features a four-barrel carburetor, aluminum pistons, 10.25:1 compression ratio, and chrome valve covers. Output was factory rated at 240 horsepower.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
