This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette was the subject of a custom build before being purchased by the current owner in 2008. The rear wheel arches were flared, a stinger-style hood was installed, and the body was painted white with red coves and mounted to a custom chassis with a Mustang II front suspension setup, a four-link rear, adjustable coilovers, and four-wheel disc brakes. Power is provided by a small-block Chevrolet V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and equipped with an aftermarket camshaft, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and a Mallory distributor. This modified C1 Corvette is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean California title.
The car was refinished in white with red coves during the build and features a stinger-style hood scoop and flared rear wheel arches as well as a red convertible soft top, quadruple headlights, split chrome bumpers, fender vents, and dual exhaust outlets.
The American Racing Torq Thrust wheels are mounted with staggered-width Firestone Firehawk tires. The car rides on a modified chassis with a Mustang II front suspension assembly using tubular control arms as well as a rear four-link setup with adjustable coilovers. It is also equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features two bucket seats trimmed in red vinyl along with a color-coordinated dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Amenities include and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. A Lokar shifter is installed along with an aftermarket digital stereo.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a sweeping 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, battery charge, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 28k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The small-block V8 was installed under prior ownership and features an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, a Mallory Unilite distributor, and polished valve covers. A Syclone electric cooling fan is affixed to the radiator.
The small-block V8 casting number is pictured.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Full-length headers feed into a dual exhaust system that utilizes MagnaFlow mufflers.
The reproduction VIN tag reads J58S105299 and corresponds with the VIN listed on the California title.
