This 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible was sold new at McEleney Motors, Inc. in Clinton, Iowa, and later acquired by the current owner in March 2000, according to the selling dealer. Subsequent work consisted of replacing the power antenna and air conditioning compressor and converting the system to R134a refrigerant. Power is provided by a 500ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and the car is finished in Sable Black over Black Sierra Grain leather. Equipment includes a black convertible soft top, 15″ steel wheels, black wheel covers, four-wheel disc brakes, Twilight Sentinel automatic headlights, and an AM/FM stereo with an eight-track cassette player as well as an illuminated thermometer, automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, and power-adjustable front seats. This Eldorado Convertible shows 3,200 miles and is now offered on dealer consignment with a 2013 AACA Spring Meet First Place award, a black-finished parade boot, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The car is finished in Sable Black (19) with pinstriping and a power-operated Black convertible soft top. Additional exterior features include a power antenna, remote-controlled side mirrors, fender-mounted light monitors, cornering lights, illuminated entry, and chrome bumpers. A matching hard parade boot will accompany the vehicle.
The 15″ steel wheels feature black covers and are mounted with older P235/75 American Classic whitewall tires. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners. The Eldorado featured a torsion bar front suspension and a coil-sprung solid rear axle along with Automatic Level Control and power steering.
The cabin features a power-adjustable front bench trimmed in Black Sierra Grain leather, and amenities include an AM/FM stereo with an eight-track cassette player as well as an illuminated thermometer, cruise control, a power trunk-lid release, automatic climate control, Twilight Sentinel automatic headlights, power door locks, and power windows. The power antenna motor and the heater core are said to have been replaced in 2009.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 3,200 miles, approximately 1,300 of which have been added under current ownership.
The 500ci V8 features a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 190 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. The radiator and air conditioning compressor were reportedly replaced and the system was converted to utilize R134a refrigerant in 2008.
Power is routed to the front wheels via a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission.
