This 1966 Mercedes-Benz 230SL was sold new in Phoenix, Arizona, moved to California and Idaho, and returned to California following the seller’s purchase in 2019. It is finished in Light Blue over burgundy MB-Tex and powered by a 2.3-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes color-matched 14″ steel wheels, a body-color removable hardtop, a blue soft top, power steering, chrome bumpers and trim, wood trim, and a Blaupunkt radio. Service under current ownership has reportedly included rebuilding the fuel injection system, changing the fluids, and replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter, belts, hoses, firewall pad, and shifter bushings. This 230SL is now offered with service records, factory manuals, a stamped service booklet, and a clean California title.
Introduced at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show, the W113 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, Béla Barényi, and Paul Bracq. This example is finished in Light Blue (334), and its blue soft top was replaced during current ownership.
