This 1955 MG TF 1500 is a left-hand-drive example that was built on February 1955 and was acquired by the seller in 2016, reportedly from the estate of its original owner. Subsequent work included installing 60-spoke chrome wire wheels and a 4.3:1 rear end, as well as replacing the starter, rack and pinion steering assembly, and fuel pump. The car was repainted Ivory in 2023, at which time the interior was reupholstered in red leather. Power is supplied by a 1.5-liter XPEG inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and features include a black soft top, 15″ wire wheels, rear-hinged doors, fender-mounted mirrors, lap belts, side curtains, a tonneau cover, and a folding windshield. This TF 1500 is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, an owner’s manual, spare parts, a car cover, a tool kit, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in red, the car was repainted Ivory in 2023 and is equipped with a black soft top and a tan boot. Additional features include chrome bumpers with a front badge bar as well as running boards, rear-hinged doors, fender-mounted mirrors, side curtains, a tonneau cover, and a folding windshield.

Chrome 15″ 60-spoke wire wheels with knock-off hubs are mounted with 6.5HR15 Vredstein tires, and a spare is affixed to the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums. A replacement rack and pinion steering assembly was installed in 2017.

The cabin features low-back bucket seats that were re-trimmed in red leather in 2023, along with black carpets and a red dash pad and door panels. Interior appointments include red lap belts, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, and dual dashboard storage compartments. The factory windshield wiper switch is inoperative, and an auxiliary toggle switch has been added under the dash.

The banjo-style steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation that has been rebuilt under current ownership, consisting of a 105-mph speedometer with an inset clock, a tachometer, and a combination gauge for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 22k miles, approximately 2,500 of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1.5-liter XPEG inline-four is equipped with dual SU carburetors and is linked with a four-speed manual transmission. A spin-on oil filter adapter was installed under current ownership, along with a replacement starter, fuel pump, and cloth-wrapped wiring harness. The rocker arms were also rebuilt, and a 4.3:1 rear axle was installed. There is a leak from the rear of the engine sump.

A handful of photos taken during the repaint process are provided in the gallery.
