This 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Brilliant Emerald Metallic over beige leather upholstery. Amenities include a deployable roll bar, seat position memory, a Kenwood head unit, a heated rear hardtop window, cruise control, and automatic climate control. Various trim pieces were replaced and the air conditioning system was flushed and recharged in 2022. In 2023 the passenger seat cushion and leather were replaced in addition to the windshield top switch.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 58k miles.
The 5.0-liter M119 V8 was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque. In 2022 the engine mounts and fan belt were replaced, a coolant flush and oil change were carried out, and oil leaks were repaired. and the oxygen sensor and oil level sensor were replaced in 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The transmission mounts, fluid, and filter were changed and the differential was serviced in 2022, and in October 2023 the front and rear shift rod bearings were replaced as well as the driveshaft flex disc.
