This 1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider was built on November 29, 1962 and initially delivered to New York. It was acquired by noted collector Terence E. Adderley of Michigan in 2013, reportedly from its prior owner of three decades in Ohio. A replacement 1.6-liter inline-four sourced from a Sprint GT Veloce was installed several decades ago, and it is linked with a five-speed manual transmission. Finished in red over black upholstery, the car is further equipped with a ported-and-polished cylinder head, dual Weber carburetors, GTA-specification exhaust headers, a black soft top, 15” wheels, drum brakes, and Veglia instrumentation. This Giulia Spider was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024 and is now offered in Arizona with an Alfa Romeo Classiche Certificato di Origine, a tonneau cover, and a clean Michigan title.
The car left the factory finished in red and was repainted many years ago. Exterior details include a black soft top, a tonneau cover, dual Vitaloni side mirrors, and chrome bumpers. Paint meter readings taken from around the car are viewable in a video in the gallery below.
Silver-finished 15” steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series Michelin XZX tires. Braking is handled by hydraulic drums at all four corners.
The bucket seats and door panel inserts have been re-trimmed in black upholstery, and they are joined by a color-coordinated dash pad and carpets. RJS latch-and-link lap harnesses have been installed, and an owner’s club plaque has been applied to the glove compartment lid.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a combination gauge, and a tachometer with an inset oil pressure gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles.
The replacement 1.6L twin-cam inline-four features dual Weber carburetors and was sourced from a 1967 Giulia Sprint GT Veloce. A rebuild performed in 1990 by Norman Racing Group of Berkeley, California, involved porting and polishing the cylinder head and installing performance valves as well as GTA-specification exhaust headers. A battery cut-off switch is mounted in the trunk.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
The Alfa Romeo Classiche Certificato di Origine indicates that the car was produced on November 29, 1962, for the US market and lists factory colors and identification numbers.
