This 1969 Plymouth GTX is one of 700 convertible examples produced for the 1969 model year. Power is provided by a 440ci four-barrel V8 and is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in red with black lower body accents, the car is equipped with front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in white vinyl upholstery. It also has a white soft top and top boot, an Air Grabber hood, quad headlights, 14″ chromed steel road wheels, and power-assisted brakes in addition to a center console and an aftermarket stereo. This GTX was purchased by the seller in 2024 and is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Scorch Red (R6) and was repainted at some point under prior ownership. It is equipped with an Air Grabber hood, quad headlights, chrome bumpers, black lower body accents, and GTX badging. A scuff on the soft top is noted, and the top for the motor is not connected. One of the side windows is not installed.
Chromed 14″ steel road wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by drums at each corner.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in white vinyl, and woodgrain trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels. An aftermarket sound system is installed. Two tears in the upholstery are noted.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 4k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 440ci Super Commando V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 375 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission.
