This 1995 MG RV8 is a Japanese-market example that was imported to the US under previous ownership and spent time in Virginia before being acquired by the seller in September 2022. It is powered by a 3.9-liter Rover V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Woodcote Green over tan upholstery. Equipment includes body-color bumper covers and rocker panel extensions, 15″ basketweave wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, a tan convertible soft top, burl wood veneer interior trim, air conditioning, and a Pioneer head unit. This RV8 shows 22k kilometers (~14k miles) and is offered with service records, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
Approximately 2,000 RV8 examples were produced during a three-year run, and this example is finished in Woodcote Green (HPE) with a tan convertible soft top that was replaced in 2022. Additional exterior details include a top boot, dual side-view mirrors, and body-color bumpers and rocker panel extensions.
The 15″ basketweave alloy wheels feature faux split rim bolts and are mounted with 205/60 Yokohama Avid Ascena GT tires that were installed in 2022. The car rides on Spax Krypton-filled dampers, fitted in August 2023, and features an independent front and leaf-spring rear suspension. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
In October 2022, the bucket seats and door panels were retrimmed in tan leather with green piping and cashmere sides and backs. At that time the portions of the carpeting were replaced, plastic interior parts were dyed, and six water board panels were fabricated. Additional interior elements include burl wood veneer trim, fire extinguishers, air conditioning, a lockable glove compartment, and a Pioneer flip-up head unit.
A wood-trimmed steering wheel frames instrumentation consisting of a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, fuel level, and battery voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 22k kilometers (~14k miles). A service document from April 2024 notes that the charging light stays on, though the charging system is working properly.
The fuel-injected 3.9-liter Rover V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. In April 2024, the oil pan gasket was replaced and an oil change was performed, at that time the cooling system hoses were noted to show wear.
Additional underside images are provided in the gallery. The fuel tank was replaced in January 2023.
