This Porsche 356 replica is said to have been initially built by Vintage Speedsters before being completed in 2023 by Vintage Motorcars of California Inc., in Hawaiian Gardens, California. It was delivered new to the selling dealer in August 2023 and is finished in Guards Red over black vinyl and powered by a 1,915cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, dual carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ Vintage 190 wheels, a single-grille decklid, VDO instrumentation, and a retro-style digital radio. Previously listed on BaT in July 2024, this Speedster replica is now offered again by the selling dealer in Arizona with a black top boot, removable side curtains, a build sheet, and a clean California title that lists the vehicle as a 1969 Volkswagen.
The fiberglass body is finished in Guards Red and features a black convertible soft top with a matching boot and side curtains. Additional details include body-color bumpers with chrome accents as well as a left-side mirror, a single decklid grille, teardrop taillights, a reproduction Reutter badge on the right fender, and gold-finished Speedster, Porsche, and 1600 Super badging. The photos in the listing and the gallery below were taken in August 2023.
The 15″ Vintage 190 wheels wear chrome-finished hubcaps with full-color Porsche-crest centers and are mounted with 195/65 MOMO Outrun M20 Pro tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
The low-back bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl complemented by a color-coordinated dash pad, parcel shelf, and door panels. Black square-weave carpet lines the floor and front trunk, and additional appointments include a retro-style digital radio, a heater and defroster, lap belts, a passenger grab handle, and a height-adjustable rearview mirror.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel features a Porsche-crest horn button and frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 30 miles, all of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The air-cooled 1,915cc flat-four breathes through dual carburetors topped with chrome air-cleaner housings.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle with a 3.88:1 ring and pinion.
The frame tunnel stamping shown above is consistent with a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle.
