This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette was previously owned by actor Nicolas Cage and was first sold on BaT in July 2021. Work since then involved reupholstering the interior and replacing the tires, radiator, battery, accelerator pump, and power steering components. The car is finished in silver with a black soft top and is powered by a 427ci L36 V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 15″ Rally wheels, a vinyl-covered removable hardtop, air conditioning, and a Delco AM/FM radio. This C3 convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner, a licensed retail dealer in Florida, with recent service records and a clean Louisiana title.

The car was factory-finished in Cortez Silver (986) and is said to have been refinished in the 1990s. Features include chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, a black soft top, a removable black vinyl-covered hardtop, and pop-up headlights. Close-up photos are shown in the gallery.

The 15″ Rally wheels wear chrome trim rings and center caps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the calipers, lines, and pads were replaced in 2021. The power steering cylinder and control valve were replaced in 2024.

The cabin was reupholstered in gray and a Delco AM/FM radio was installed in place of an aftermarket unit. Additional amenities include air conditioning, an analog clock, and lap belts.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, while auxiliary gauges for fuel level, battery charge, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 80k miles, approximately 20 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 427ci L36 V8 was factory equipped with a four-barrel Rochester carburetor and was rated at 390 horsepower when new. A replacement manifold gasket was installed and the carburetor was rebuilt in 2021, and the carburetor accelerator pump, radiator, and battery were replaced in 2024.

The engine stamping shows the sequence 704113, which matches the last six digits of the VIN tag viewable in the gallery. The LM suffix corresponds with a 427ci/390hp V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The mufflers and exhaust tips were installed in 2021. There is corrosion on the rear axles.

Decoding the trim tag reveals:

  • C08 – October 1968
  • Trim 416 – Gunmetal vinyl upholstery
  • Paint 986 – Cortez silver paint
