This 1956 Triumph TR3 was refinished in black over black vinyl and fitted with a replacement 1,991cc inline-four before the seller’s 2023 acquisition. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes black 15″ steel wheels with polished hubcaps in addition to a banjo-style steering wheel and dual SU carburetors. This TR3 is offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, a black tonneau cover, and a non-fitting white soft top as well as a California title in the seller’s name listing it as a 1957 model.

Finished from the factory in Pearl White, the car was repainted black under prior ownership and features fender-mounted side mirrors, wind wings, chrome bumperettes, and twin exhaust outlets.

Black 15″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series Dunlop SP 4N tires. The car was factory equipped with a coil-sprung independent front suspension and a semi-elliptic leaf-spring rear suspension. Braking is handled by front and rear drums.

The low-back bucket seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl and are accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include door pockets, a lockable glovebox, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror.

The banjo-style steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, amperage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The speedometer operates intermittently. The five-digit odometer shows 16k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. The seller notes that the total mileage is unknown.

A replacement 1,991cc OHV inline-four was installed under previous ownership and is equipped with dual SU carburetors. The fuel filter was replaced and the oil was changed in April 2024.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of August 22, 1956 and subsequent dispatch to the United States.

The California title carries a “Not Actual Mileage” notation.
