This 2006 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG is a Designo Graphite Edition example that is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Designo Graphite over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes a power-retractable hardtop, a panoramic glass roof, bi-xenon headlights, 20″ Avus wheels, a Bose sound system, and COMAND with navigation. The car was purchased by the seller in 2023, and work performed since is said to have included reupholstering the seats and replacing the PSE pump, Signal Acquisition Module, drive belts, battery, driver’s window regulator, and COMAND screen. This R230 has 139k miles and is offered with a car cover, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Designo Graphite (041) and features a power-folding convertible hardtop with a panoramic glass roof. Additional exterior details include bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, fender air vents, and AMG bodywork including a revised front spoiler, side skirts, and quad exhaust outlets. A July 2011 entry on the Carfax report lists “minor damage” to the front, while a subsequent entry from December 2012 lists “minor to moderate damage” to the front and left front corner. The Pneumatic System Equipment (PSE) pump was replaced and the fluid was changed in January 2024. The front bumper cover is cracked and there are blemishes around the front wheel arches. Aftermarket 20″ multi-piece Avus wheels have blemishes and are mounted with a mixed set of Kumho and Falken tires. The car features Active Body Control (ABC) suspension as well as an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Automatic Slip Control (ASR), and an AMG High Performance Braking System with cross-drilled rotors. The Active Body Control fluid was changed in January 2024.
The power-adjustable seats were upholstered in black leather in 2024, and Umber Maple wood trim accents the cabin. Features include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a wind deflector, Keyless Go, a Bose sound system, and COMAND with navigation. The seller states that the driver’s window regulator and COMAND screen were replaced and the air conditioning was recharged under current ownership. There is wear on the driver’s door panel.
The leather-trimmed steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 139k miles, approximately 2,500 of which were added under current ownership.
The supercharged 5.4-liter M113 V8 was factory-rated at 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The Signal Acquisition Module (SAM), drive belts, and battery were replaced under current ownership, per the seller.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The transmission mount was replaced under current ownership.
