This 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible was purchased by the seller in 1977, reportedly from a neighbor who was the car’s original owner. It is powered by a 350ci V8 linked with a two-speed automatic transmission and was refinished in red over a red vinyl interior within the last ten years. Equipment includes a black soft top, power steering, 14″ steel wheels with Deluxe wheel covers, a center console, an Alpine Bluetooth CD stereo, aftermarket door speakers, and air conditioning. This Firebird is now offered with spare parts, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in red in 2018, and additional work at that time involved replacing the front and rear bumpers along with the chrome trim around the body. Exterior details include a black soft top, quad round headlights, and a door-mounted driver-side mirror.
The 14″ steel wheels feature Deluxe wheel covers and are mounted with El Dorado Golden Fury whitewall tires measuring P208/75. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping is provided by front and rear drum brakes.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench, and the interior was reupholstered in red vinyl in 2014. The car features a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets, and appointments include a center console, an Alpine Bluetooth CD stereo, aftermarket door speakers, and an air conditioning system, the latter of which was installed in 2000.
The three-spoke wood-rimmed Pontiac steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 78k miles, though approximately 128k miles have been added under current ownership, and the odometer has rolled over. Total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 was factory equipped with a replacement two-barrel carburetor and was rated at 265 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque. The carburetor was rebuilt and the points and ignition coil were replaced in 2022, and the belts and spark plugs were replaced in June 2023.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a two-speed automatic transmission which was rebuilt in June 2022.
The Pennsylvania title carries an “Antique” brand.
