This 1961 Sunbeam Alpine was acquired by the seller in 2012 out of Wisconsin and relocated to Minnesota, where a multi-year refurbishment was completed in 2024. Work involved refinishing the car in blue, performing bodywork, and installing a 2.8-liter Ford V6 that is backed by a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. The car rides on 13″ Minilite-style knockoff wheels and has front disc brakes and front Spax shocks. Replacement low-back bucket seats are trimmed in black, a Boss CD player is installed, and aftermarket gauges are located in the fabricated dashboard. This Alpine is now offered with a car cover, refurbishment photos, and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.

The car was stripped to metal, and bodywork involved replacing the rocker panels and leading seams before a repaint in light blue metallic. A coating was applied to the underside, and sound-dampening material was applied to the wheel wells. A convertible top frame is installed, though a soft top is not fitted.

Minilite-style 13″ alloy wheels are secured with two-ear knockoffs and mounted with 185/70 Kuhmo tires. Front disc brakes and front Spax shocks have been added.

The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl, while brown trim accents the door panels. A Boss CD stereo with Bluetooth is installed above a 12-volt power outlet in the center stack.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of a fabricated steel dashboard, and Marshall instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The five-digit odometer shows 385 miles, which is said to represent the miles added since completion of the build.

The seller states that the 1974 Ford 2.8-liter V6 and Tremec T-5 five-speed manual transmission sourced from a Mustang were installed during the project. An Offenhauser intake manifold and dual Derale electric fans are fitted. The transmission tunnel was enlarged to accept the replacement transmission, and fabrication work was performed to the radiator and fan shroud, the transmission mount, and the exhaust system.

Additional photos showing the condition of the underside are presented in the gallery below.

A red-finished hardtop is included in the sale. The headliner is torn.

Photos showing various stages of the refurbishment can be seen in the galler.

The car is titled using the sequence shown on the reproduction data plate affixed to the car.
