This 1979 Fiat Spider 2000 was acquired by the seller in 2022 as a non-running project, and subsequent work included replacing the cylinder head, radiator, water pump, valves, spark plugs, and several seals along with the brake rotors, calipers, and lines. The car is finished in beige over tan vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four equipped with an aftermarket carburetor and headers. Equipment includes a five-speed manual transmission, a tan soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wheels, and a Sony Bluetooth stereo. This Spider 2000 is offered in California with an owner’s manual, service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in beige and was repainted under previous ownership. Exterior features include a folding tan convertible soft top, a driver-side mirror, a “2000” badge, a luggage rack, and chrome bumpers and trim. A dent on the trunk lid can be seen in the gallery below.
The aftermarket 15″ wheels are mounted with Federal Super Steel SS535 tires measuring 205/55. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension with a sway bar and coil springs as well as worm-and-roller gear steering. Stopping power is handled by discs at all four corners. The brake rotors, calipers, lines, and pads were replaced in 2022 according to the seller. The front-right wheel rubs on full lock when driving in reverse.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in tan vinyl, and additional interior appointments include woodgrain dashboard trim, a heater, and a Sony Bluetooth stereo. The sun visors and rearview mirror were replaced and the driver’s seat frame was repaired under current ownership. The center console is damaged and the right seat is stained.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 84k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership. The clock was replaced in 2022.
The 2.0-liter inline-four sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. An aftermarket carburetor, headers, and exhaust system are installed according to the seller. The cylinder head, head gasket, radiator, water pump, valves, spark plugs, and several seals were replaced in 2022.
