This 1952 MG TD was refurbished around 2000 under prior ownership and was acquired by the current owner in July 2023. Finished in red over black vinyl, the car is powered by a 1,250cc XPAG inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Other equipment includes a black soft top, wind wings, 15″ steel wheels, hubcaps, and an electronic fuel pump. The shocks, springs, control-arm bushings, sway-bar links, brake hoses, and differential were replaced under current ownership. This TD is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner with a recent service record, an owner’s manual, a jack, and a clean Minnesota title in the owner’s name.
The car has been repainted in red, and features include a replacement black folding soft top as well as a leather hood strap, a louvered hood, a folding windshield, wind wings, running boards, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Auxiliary round taillights are positioned above the rear bumper, and an unadorned badge bar is attached to the front bumper. Chipped paint is visible around the door hinges.
Silver-finished 15″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with 185/65 Michelin MXV radial tires. A spare wheel and tire with a soft brown cover are affixed at the rear of the car. Braking is handled by drums at each corner. The shocks, springs, spring bushings, sway-bar links and bushings, control-arm bushings, and brake hoses were replaced in July 2023.
The cabin houses a split bench seat trimmed in black vinyl, and amenities include a wood dashboard, a wood shift knob, door-panel map pockets, a glovebox, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. Interior wear is pictured in the gallery below.
The banjo-style steering wheel has an aftermarket wrap and is mounted on an adjustable column. Jaeger instrumentation consists of a 100-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an inset clock as well as gauges for oil pressure and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 37k miles, approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership; total mileage is unknown.
The 1,250cc XPAG inline-four is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 54 horsepower. A Facet Gold-Flo electronic fuel pump has been installed. The oil was changed most recently in August 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The differential was replaced in July 2023 with a rebuilt unit with a 4.3:1 final-drive ratio, and the spring pads and the shackle-pin bushings were replaced. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
The car is titled under the sequence XPAG14202, which is a version of the engine number, whereas the chassis number is TD13741.
