33k-Mile 1983 Mercedes-Benz 380SL

This 1983 Mercedes-Benz 380SL was initially delivered to Jim Earp Chrysler Plymouth in Omaha, Nebraska, and it now shows 33k miles. Finished in Silver Blue Metallic over beige leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 3.8-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a blue soft top, a removable hardtop, 14″ Bundt alloy wheels, fog lights, a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo, electric windows, R134a-based air conditioning, and automatic climate control. Work performed since 2023 has included replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel accumulator, battery, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, and air filter. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, this R107 is offered with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, service records, spare parts, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Oklahoma title.

The car is finished in Silver Blue Metallic and features a color-matched removable hardtop and a blue convertible soft top. Additional exterior equipment includes quad headlights, fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. Repairs have been made to the left rear corner of the soft top, and the passenger side power mirror does not work. Silver 14″ Bundt alloy wheels are fitted with Hankook Kinergy ST tires that were mounted in October 2023. The car was factory-equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in beige leather along with a matching center console and door panels. Interior features include a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo, electric windows, and automatic climate control. The air conditioning system was been converted to utilize R134a refrigerant, and the blower motor regulator was replaced in 2023.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership. The fuel level gauge and tachometer were repaired in 2023.

The 3.8-liter M116 V8 was factory rated at 155 horsepower and 196 lb-ft of torque. Revised timing chain rollers were added in 2007, and work performed since 2023 has included replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel accumulator, battery, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, and air filter.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Jim Earp Chrysler Plymouth in Omaha, Nebraska, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total suggested retail price of $44,251.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage from its first entry in March 1986.
