This 1969 Pontiac Firebird convertible was refurbished in the 1980s and is said to have spent more than three decades with its prior owner before it was acquired by the seller in 2023. The car left the factory equipped with a 400ci H.O. V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission and a Safe-T-Track differential. A replacement 400ci V8 was installed in the early 1980s. Finished in red over black vinyl, the car is equipped with a black soft top, front and rear spoilers, power steering, 14″ Rally II wheels, a center console, a Hurst shifter, and a hood-mounted tachometer. This Firebird is now offered with Pontiac Historic Services documentation and an Ohio title in the seller’s name.

The car left the factory finished in Carousel Red (72) and is said to have been repainted in the 1980s. It has a black soft top, quad round headlights, and front and rear spoilers.

Rally II 14″ wheels are mounted with 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A  tires. The car is equipped with power steering.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include a center console, a Hurst shifter, and a heater.

Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. A tachometer is mounted on the hood. The five-digit odometer shows 48k miles, approximately 150 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The seller notes that the 400ci V8 is a replacement that was installed in the 1980s and is said to have been sourced from a 1970 Pontiac.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential.

Decoding the trim tag provides the following information:

  • 69 22367 – 1969 Two-door convertible
  • LOR539748 – Lordstown, Ohio assembly plant
  • 218 – Black vinyl upholstery
  • 72 – Carousel Red paint

Documentation from Pontiac Historic Services is included in the sale and presented in the gallery below.

The current Ohio title carries an “Exceeds Mechanical Limits” notation.
