This 1998 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is one of a limited run built to commemorate the 82nd Indianapolis 500. The car was purchased in May 2010 by the seller who has since added 1,200 of the 10k miles shown. It is finished in Pace Car Purple over black and yellow leather, and it is powered by a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Equipment includes a black convertible soft top, Active Handling, yellow-finished 17″ and 18″ five-spoke wheels, a limited-slip differential, power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a CD stereo, a Bose sound system, and cruise control. This C5 convertible is now offered with a window sticker, a build sheet, an Indy 500 pace car license plate, an NCRS judging booklet, a 2000 Birthday Bash Celebrity Choice Car Show award, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Pace Car Purple Metallic with hood and side graphics as well as Indianapolis Motor Speedway and stylized Corvette checkered-flag decals with “82nd Indianapolis 500 May 24th 1998” graphics on the doors. Equipment includes a black convertible soft top, pop-up headlights, fog lights, body side moldings, a Corvette-branded front plate cover, and quad exhaust outlets. There is a paint blemish on the lower portion of the driver’s door.
Yellow-finished five-spoke wheels measure 17″ in diameter up front and 18″ out back and are mounted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. The car is equipped with Active Handling and traction control. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs.
The cabin features two power-adjustable sport seats trimmed in black and yellow leather. Amenities include driver-seat position memory settings, dual-zone automatic climate control, a CD stereo, a Bose sound system, and cruise control.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 10k miles, approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.7-liter LS1 V8 was factory rated at 345 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Drive belts were replaced in May 2019, and an oil change was performed in May 2024. Four signatures are visible on the underside of the hood.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The exhaust pipe was said to have been rewelded under current ownership.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to the Chevrolet Western Region, along with equipment, options, and a total price of $50,914. A build sheet, an NCRS judging booklet, and a 2000 Birthday Bash Celebrity Choice Car Show award are also included in the sale.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
