This 1966 Cadillac DeVille convertible was sold new in October, 1966, at Vanice Pontiac Cadillac of Lincoln, Nebraska, and was acquired by the seller in 2017 out of Colorado. Finished in Strathmore White over red leather upholstery, it is powered by a 429ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and rides on a lowered suspension along with 20″ Ridler wheels. The car is further equipped with stacked headlights, vertical taillights, and rear fender skirts along with a power-operated black convertible top, bench seats, and an AM/FM radio. This DeVille convertible is now available with a window sticker, 1966 sales paperwork, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Montana title in the seller’s name.
The body left the factory finished in Strathmore White (12) with a power-operated black convertible top. Stacked headlights, vertical taillights, and chrome bumpers are further details. The seller notes evidence of paintwork and reports rust near the rear fender skirts.
Staggered-width 20″ Ridler wheels are wrapped in 255/30 Velozza ZXV4 tires up front and 275/40 Sailun rubber out back. The car rides on a lowered suspension, and braking is handled by four-wheel drums.
The bench seats are trimmed in red leather and accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. The front bench is power-adjustable, and further factory appointments include an AM/FM radio, and power windows. The seller notes the air conditioning is inoperable.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a clock along with gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, approximately 5k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 429ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 340 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. A replacement alternator and battery were reportedly installed in 2017, and the seller notes fluid leaks.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission.
