This 1954 MG TF was refurbished in 2004 and is powered by a 1.5-liter BMC replacement inline-four. It is finished in metallic blue over Biscuit leather, and equipment includes a Fawn soft top, 15″ wire wheels, “1500” badges, chrome bumpers, running boards, rear-hinged doors, fender-mounted mirrors, seat belts, side curtains, a tonneau cover, and a folding windshield. The seller purchased the car in 2023 and it is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, a selection of new replacement parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Originally red, the car has been repainted in metallic blue and comes with a tan soft top. A previous owner applied “1500” badges to the car, and features include chrome bumpers, a front badge bar as well as wind wings, running boards, rear-hinged doors, fender-mounted mirrors, side curtains, a tonneau cover, and a folding windshield. A set of driving lamps is installed but not wired. The seller notes corrosion on the bumpers.

All five painted 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 165-series Coker Classic whitewall tires. Maintenance in preparation for the sale has included servicing the drum brakes and replacing the steering linkage boots.

The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in Biscuit leather and complemented by a color-coordinated dash pad and door panels. Interior appointments include seat belts, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, and dual dashboard storage compartments. The dashboard clock does not work, the left door handle doesn’t open the door from the outside, and the driver’s seat is not bolted to the floor. Replacement seat brackets are included in the sale as are a replacement carpet and insulation set.

The leather-wrapped banjo-style steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 105-mph speedometer with an inset clock, a tachometer, and a combination gauge for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles, approximately 70 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1,466cc XPEG inline-four is a BMC replacement engine, which the seller reports was installed in 1958. Service in preparation for the sale included changing the oil and coolant and replacing the fuel pump and fuel level sender.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate indicates the factory engine size and the original colors.

A selection of new replacement parts is included in the sale. Photos are provided in the gallery.
