This 2001 Mercedes-Benz SL500 remained registered in California until it relocated to Connecticut following the seller’s purchase in 2021. The car is finished in black over gray Nappa leather upholstery and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Equiptment includes the AMG Styling Package, a removable hardtop, a black soft top, 18″ five-spoke AMG wheels, xenon headlights, fog lights, heated power-adjustable seats, a cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, and automatic climate control. Work performed in 2024 is said to have included replacing the valve cover gaskets, breather hoses, and spark plugs. This R129 has 97k miles and is offered at no reserve with a Connecticut registration.

The car is finished in black and features a matching removable hardtop as well as a black soft top. Additional exterior equipment includes xenon headlights, fog lights, fender air vents, and the AMG Styling Package, which added revised bumper covers and aerodynamic side skirts. The Carfax report shows undated damage that likely occurred between January 2005 and January 2006. The seller notes rips in the soft top and that the soft top mechanism requires service. Close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.

Silver 18″ five-spoke AMG wheels are mounted with Falken tires. The car is equipped with an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.

The cabin features heated power-adjustable seats upholstered in gray Nappa leather along with burl wood accents on the doors and center stack. Amenities include a deployable roll bar, seat position memory, a cassette stereo, a trunk-mounted CD changer, a Bose sound system, a heated rear hardtop window, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The driver’s door pabel has damage, and there are stains in the trunk compartement.

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 97k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership. The seller notes that the oil and coolant light intermittently illuminate.

The 5.0-liter M113 V8 was factory-rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. The valve cover gaskets, breather hoses, and spark plugs were reportedly replaced in 2024.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.

The Carfax report lists the aforementioned undated accident.

The vehicle does not have a title, as it is located in a state that does not issue titles to vehicles of its age. It is being offered on its Connecticut registration.
