This 1991 Lotus Elan M100 is one of approximately 559 examples sold in the US and is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Finished in yellow over black and gray leather, the car rides on 16″ Drag alloy wheels and adjustable AVO coilovers. Additional equipment includes a replacement black soft top, Hi Spec Motorsport four-piston front brake calipers, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel, air conditioning, a JVC CD stereo, a roll hoop, a performance ECU chip, and an Injen air intake system. It was first registered in Washington and later spent time in California where it was acquired by the seller in 2018, who reportedly replaced the water pump, fuel injectors, drive belts, and timing components. This M100 Elan shows 118k miles and is now offered at no reserve with an owner’s handbook, a Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The fiberglass composite body is finished in yellow and was repainted under prior ownership. Details include a replacement black soft top, pop-up headlights, a rear spoiler, and a single exhaust outlet. The seller notes that the power-adjustment functionality for the mirrors does not work and that additional exterior body seals need to be replaced. The Carfax report lists a damage report in February 2021 with no further information given.
Black-finished 16″ Drag DR-34 alloy wheels are mounted with 205/45 Yokohama Advan Fleva tires. The car rides on AVO adjustable coilovers, and braking is provided by four-wheel discs with Hi Spec Motorsport four-piston calipers over slotted rotors mounted up front.
The bucket seats were reupholstered in black and gray leather with yellow accents and color-matching material extends to the door panel inserts. A short-throw shifter was reportedly retrofitted along with a roll hoop, and appointments include air conditioning, a digital clock, a Lotus-branded wood shift knob, and a JVC CD stereo.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Additional readouts for monitoring voltage, oil pressure, and boost pressure are mounted at the top of the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 118k miles, approximately 30k of which have been added under current ownership.
The turbocharged and intercooled 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four was sourced from Isuzu and tuned by Lotus. A performance ECU chip is said to be installed along with an Injen air intake system.
