This 1966 Lincoln Continental convertible was used as a parade car for a Sheriff’s department in Arizona before it was acquired by its current owner in 2014. The car has been repainted black with a black soft top and black leather upholstery, and it is powered by a 462ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission. A hidden sound system has been added, and over the last few years the transmission was rebuilt, the soft top was replaced, and the left exhaust manifold was repaired. This Continental convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of his family with a Pennsylvania title in his mother’s name.

The car was finished from the factory in Cranberry and has been repainted black. The power-operated black convertible top was also replaced.

The 15″ steel wheels feature polished covers and are mounted with p235/75 Coker Classic tires. Power steering was standard, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The cabin houses bench seating that was reupholstered during the refurbishment in black leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. An aftermarket sound system and auxiliary cord for a smartphone are concealed in the glove box, and the car has power locks and a heater. The rear windows do not roll all the way up, and the rear-seat controls do not work.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles, though the seller does not believe it is accurate, and total mileage is unknown. Approximately 500 miles were added under current ownership.

The 462ci V8 was factory equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 340 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque. In June 2024 the spark plug wires and left exhaust manifold were replaced.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a dual-range three-speed automatic transmission and a rear axle 3.00:1 gearing. The transmission was rebuilt in April 2023.

Decoding the door tag reveals the following information:

  • Body 74A – Continental four-door convertible
  • Color T – Cranberry paint
  • Trim 86 – Black leather upholstery
  • Date 06E – May 6th build date
  • DSO 54 – Seattle, Washington, ordering district
  • Axle 1 – Standard differential with 3.00:1 gearing
  • Transmission 4 – Dual-range three-speed automatic

The current title carries a Classic brand.
