This 1958 MG MGA 1500 roadster is powered by a 1,489cc inline-four linked to a four-speed manual transmission, and it was acquired by the seller in 2011. Finished in red over tan leather upholstery, the car is equipped with a manually retractable black convertible top, fender-mounted side mirrors, wind wings, a rear luggage rack, and 15″ knock-off wire wheels along with drum brakes, bucket seats, a cabin heater, and a wood-rimmed Moto Lita steering wheel. Work in June 2024 included replacing clutch components, overhauling the carburetors, and adjusting the brakes. This MGA 1500 is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, side curtains, the owner’s manual, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in black and was repainted in red under prior ownership. Details include a manually retractable black soft top, a bright body-contour grille, fender-mounted side mirrors, wind wings, a rear luggage rack, and bright front and rear bumpers with overriders. Photos of the soft top in the raised position can be seen in the gallery, and some of the photos were taken in May 2022.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Michelin XZX tires, and a full-size spare is stowed in the trunk. The car is equipped with an independent front suspension with coil springs and hydraulic dampers as well as a rack-and-pinion steering system. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners, and the brakes were adjusted in June 2024.
The bucket seats are upholstered in tan leather, and interior appointments include a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, a wooden shift knob, a heater, and door map pockets.
The Moto Lita Lecarra steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation, and the tachometer is nonfunctional and the speedometer needle bounces. The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 1,489cc B-series inline-four is equipped with dual SU carburetors, open-element air cleaners, and an Intermotor Sports Coil. An oil change was performed and the carburetors were overhauled in June 2024.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and the clutch kit and slave cylinder were replaced in preparation for the sale.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists colors and equipment, identification numbers, and other production information.
