This 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible was acquired by the seller in 2009 and it is finished in Nightwatch Blue with a white soft top over Parchment vinyl upholstery. The car is powered by a 389ci V8 with a Tri-Power induction setup linked with a four-speed manual transmission, and it rides on 14″ steel wheels with spinner-style covers. Equipment includes power steering, stacked headlights, a center console, a Hurst shifter, front bucket seats, a Delco AM radio, and air conditioning. This GTO convertible is offered with an owner’s manual and a Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Nightwatch Blue (E) with a white soft top and boot cover. Details include a hood scoop, stacked headlights, chrome bumpers and trim, and quad exhaust outlets that exit behind each rear wheel. Close-up photos of the paint, trim, top, and imperfections are provided in the gallery, and a video of the convertible top in operation can be seen below.
The 14″ steel wheels wear spinner-style covers and are mounted with Hercules Ultra Plus tires measuring 215/70 all around. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted drums.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in parchment vinyl, and they are joined by color-coordinated door panels and black carpets. A Hurst shifter is fitted in the center console, and further equipment includes woodgrain dashboard trim, air conditioning, and a Delco push-button AM radio.
The steering wheel features a semi-circular horn ring and fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and readouts for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 39k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.
The 389ci V8 is equipped with three Rochester two-barrel carburetors and was rated at 360 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of torque when new. The hood insulation is torn.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is noted on underbody components.
