This 1963 MGB roadster is an early-production example that was refinished in green over black leather upholstery under previous ownership, and it was acquired by the seller in 2020. Work performed since 2023 included replacing the emergency brake cable, lower windshield seal, vent window seals, rear springs, transmission mounts, rear wheel seals, spark plugs, and ignition point, according to the seller. Powered by a replacement “gold seal” 1.8-liter inline-four linked with a four-speed manual transmission, the car is equipped with 14″ wire wheels with knock-off hubs as well as a replacement blue fabric soft top, a black top boot, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a heater. This MGB is now offered at no reserve with a knock-off removal tool, a jack, a full tonneau cover, and a transferrable New York registration in the seller’s name.

The car was repainted in the current shade of green under previous ownership, and it features early-style “pull” door handles, a replacement blue fabric soft top, a black top boot and tonneau cover, and chrome-plated bumpers. Later-style overriders with rubber buffers have been installed out back, and the seller states that the lower windshield seal was replaced along with the vent window seals under current ownership. Photos of the paint condition can be viewed in the gallery below.

The silver-finished 14″ wire wheels feature knock-off hubs and are mounted with older 185/75 tires. A spare wheel and tire are located in the trunk. The car is equipped with front disc and rear drum brakes, and urethane rear suspension bushings have been installed. The seller states that the front suspension bushings and rear wheel cylinders were replaced under previous ownership, and work since 2023 is said to have included replacing the emergency brake cable, rear wheel seals, rear springs, and steering rack boots.

The bucket seats are upholstered in replacement black leather with white piping, and they are complemented by color-matching door panels. Additional interior details include a steel lower dashboard with a locking glove box as well as a wooden shift knob, MG-branded rubber floor mats, lap belts, and a heater.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges displaying oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership.

The seller states that the replacement “gold seal” 1.8-liter inline-four was installed approximately 12k miles ago. The seller states that the air cleaners were replaced in the fall of 2023, and an oil change was performed at that time. The ignition points and spark plugs were replaced in the winter of 2023, according to the seller.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The seller states that the clutch was replaced under previous ownership, and the transmission mounts were replaced in the winter of 2023. Additional photos of the underside condition are presented in the gallery below.

The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its transferrable New York registration.
