This 1966 Sunbeam is said to have been purchased by the prior owner in 1990 as a non-running project before being acquired from their estate by the seller in 2023. Based upon the features, components, and serial numbers and plates, the seller believes the car to be a Mk 1A Tiger. The car is finished in red and features a removable black hardtop, a banjo-style steering wheel, seats trimmed in black vinyl, aftermarket shocks, and 13″ steel wheels. It has been partially stripped and the engine and four-speed manual gearbox have been removed, though the latter is included in the sale along with a collection of additional spare and removed parts. This Sunbeam project is now offered at no reserve with transferable New York State registration in the seller’s name.
Previously finished in black, the car underwent bodywork and was repainted in its current shade of red in the early 2000s under previous ownership. It is accompanied by a removable black hardtop. The convertible top has been removed along with the headlights, bumpers, and various exterior trim pieces.
The car wears a mismatched set of 13″ steel wheels mounted with older tires. Aftermarket shocks have been added, and the front disc and rear drum brakes are retained.
The interior has been partially stripped and houses bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl. Rust is visible on various metal surfaces.
The banjo-style steering wheel sits ahead of a burl wood veneer dashboard. The factory Jaeger instrumentation has been taken out and will accompany the car.
The engine and transmission have been removed, and the latter is included in the sale.
Rust is visible on the underbody, and additional underside photos are presented in the gallery.
The chassis plate is shown above and the car’s serial number aligns with Mk 1A production. Additional identifying markings are presented in the gallery.
A collection of spare and removed parts will accompany the car.
