This 1975 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible is powered by a fuel-injected air-cooled 1.6L flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and is finished in red over white vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a Black convertible soft top and boot, 15″ Lemmerz steel wheels, drum brakes, a Bugpack shifter, a two-speed fresh air blower fan, a retro-style radio, and Blaupunkt speakers. The car underwent refurbishment before being acquired in September 2018, by the seller who added 5k of its 80k miles shown. This 1303 Super Beetle is now offered on dealer consignment in Deleware with service records and a clean Maryland title.
The car was refinished in the current shade of red under previous ownership and features a black convertible soft top and boot as well as dual side-view mirrors, Karmann body tags affixed to the front quarter panels, and chrome impact bumpers with rub strips. Images detailing the condition of the soft top and exterior are presented in the gallery below.
Lemmerz 15″ sport steel wheels are mounted with 165/80 Nexen SB-802 tires. The car was factory equipped with a MacPherson strut and coil spring front suspension in place of the standard Beetle’s torsion bar setup. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in white vinyl and are joined by color-coordinated door panels and black carpeting. Interior elements include a Bugpack trigger shifter, a lockable glove compartment, a two-speed fresh air blower fan, and a retro-style radio linked to kick-panel mounted Blaupunkt speakers. An aftermarket cover is installed on the dashboard.
The four-spoke steering wheel features a Wolfsburg crest center cap and fronts a 100-mph VDO speedometer with an inset fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 80k miles, approximately 5k of which have been added under current ownership.
The air-cooled 1.6L flat-four was factory equipped with Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and was rated at 48 horsepower and 73 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
