This Beck Speedster was built by Special Edition in Indiana in 2016 and it is powered by a 2.5L Subaru EJ253 flat-four. The fiberglass bodywork is finished in Audi Daytona Matte Grey over Cork leather, and the car is equipped with a four-speed Rancho transaxle, four-wheel disc brakes, Marchal fog lamps, 15″ wheels, twin engine grilles, a wood-rim Lempert steering wheel, and an Out of Sight Bluetooth audio system. This 356 Speedster replica was recently acquired by the owner, a licensed Wyoming dealer, and it is now offered on their behalf in California with a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin, the owner’s manual, service records, a car cover, and a clean Michigan title describing the car as a 2016 Porsche Replica.
The fiberglass bodywork is mounted over a custom tube-frame chassis and finished in Audi Daytona Matte Grey. Exterior equipment includes a lower-than-standard Haartz-cloth soft top, a black top boot, Marchal fog lights, H4 headlights with fluted lenses, a twin-grill engine lid, and a brushed aluminum Raydot side mirror.
The 15″ wide five steel wheels are powder-coated in black and were mounted with 185/60 Michelin Defender tires in 2019. The car is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes and the front pads and left-rear axle seal were replaced in 2019.
The bucket seats, door panels, and dashboard are upholstered in Cork Spinneybeck leather and the floor is covered in gray squareweave wool carpets. Interior appointments include black Coco Mats, push-button start, aluminum pedal covers, a dead pedal, chrome fittings, a heater with an electric fan, and an Out of Sight audio system with four Infinity cabin speakers.
Instrumentation includes a VDO GPS speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 1,200 miles.
The 2.5-liter Subaru EJ253 flat-four is equipped with a powdercoated intake assembly and was rated at 180 horsepower by Beck in 2016. The oil was changed in preparation for sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed Rancho transaxle. The clutch cylinders, hydraulic hose, and Heim joints were replaced in 2020.
The car is located in California but has not passed a California emissions test.
