This 1953 Morgan Plus 4 was purchased by the current owner in 1969, and it is finished in yellow with black fenders over black leather upholstery. Power comes from a replacement 2,138cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes a black soft top and side curtains, twin Stromberg carburetors, front disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, dual rear-mounted spares, a central driving lamp, headlight stone guards, a folding windscreen, and a wood dash panel. Service performed in 2024 included the installation of a replacement starter as well as a carburetor service. This Plus 4 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a tonneau cover, literature, service records, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

The car is said to have undergone a color change from green to its current yellow with black fenders in 1979. Features include chrome bumpers with overriders, a central driving lamp, headlight stone guards, a louvered hood with a leather tie-down, fender-mounted mirrors, a folding windscreen, and a black soft top with matching side curtains. A black tonneau cover is included in the sale. Paint chips and other imperfections in the finish can be seen in the gallery below.

Painted steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with 165R15 Steel Belted Metric Radial tires. Two matching spares are secured ahead of the rear bumper. Stopping power is provided by front disc brakes and rear drums.

The cockpit features a bench seat trimmed in black leather upholstery along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Equipment includes a passenger-side grab handle and lap belts.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a wood dash panel housing a 110-mph Smiths speedometer with an inset clock as well as a Morgan-branded combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles and is said to have rolled over. Approximately 40k were added under current ownership according to the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

A replacement 2,138cc inline-four sourced from a Triumph TR4 was installed under the seller’s ownership along with twin Stromberg carburetors and chrome air cleaners. A replacement starter was installed and the carburetors were serviced in 2024.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.

The chassis stamp reads “P2583”, while the VIN listed on the California title has a “Z” in place of the “2” in the second position.
