This 1968 Volkswagen Beetle convertible underwent refurbishment work prior to the seller’s 2020 acquisition and is powered by a 1,600cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Work under current ownership involved refreshing the black interior, installing a retro-style head unit and Kicker audio components, and replacing the electric fuel pump, ignition components, and tires. The car is finished in red over black leatherette and has a black convertible soft top, 15″ steel wheels, chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, and front bucket seats. This Beetle is now offered at no reserve with service records, spare parts, and transferable New York registration.

The car was refinished in red prior to the seller’s acquisition and is equipped with a black convertible soft top. Wear on the inside of the soft top is depicted in the gallery. The car has dual side mirrors and chrome bumpers. The chrome headlight trim was replaced and the left window and windshield wipers were repaired under current ownership.

Steel 15″ wheels wear hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series Firestone F-560 tires that were installed in 2023. The drum brakes were serviced in 2022.

The interior was re-trimmed under current ownership, and the front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in black leatherette. A Retrosound head unit and a Kicker subwoofer and amplifier were also installed following the seller’s acquisition.

Instrumentation includes a 90-mph speedometer, a fuel-level gauge, and an aftermarket cylinder head temperature readout mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 45k miles, approximately 3,500 of which were added under current ownership.

The 1,600cc flat-four was overhauled in 2010, according to the seller, and is equipped with a single carburetor. The electric fuel pump, ignition coil, distributor, and pulleys were replaced and ignition wiring was repaired following the seller’s acquisition.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle, which the seller notes was rebuilt in 2009. The right rear axle shaft was replaced under current ownership. Rust is visible on underside components.

The car does not have a title as it is registered in a state that does not issue a title for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its New York registration. The vehicle cannot be sold to a Canadian-based bidder.
