This Superformance MKIII is a Cobra replica that is powered by a Roush Performance 427SR V8 mated to a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Monza Red with silver and black stripes over black upholstery. Equipment includes a Jaguar-style independent rear suspension, 18″ Shelby American Racing knock-off wheels, four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, and adjustable coilovers in addition to equal-length exhaust headers, side-exit exhaust pipes, quick-jack bumperettes, and Smiths instrumentation. This Superformance MKIII is now offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with manufacturer’s literature, build documentation, spare parts, a removable hard top, removable side curtains, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the name of the current owner’s company listing the car as a 1965 Ford Convertible.

The Superformance MKIII features fiberglass bodywork over a rectangular steel frame with steel tube reinforcements, and this example is finished in Monza Red with silver and black over-the-top stripes. Additional exterior details include a hood scoop, a chrome driver-side roll hoop, fender vents, side-exit exhaust pipes, quick-jack bumperettes, and a LeMans-style fuel cap. A color-matched hardtop is included in the sale along with removable side curtains and spare bumpers, photos of which can be viewed in the gallery below.

Chrome 18″ Shelby American Racing wheels are secured by three-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 245/40 front and 295/35 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The car rides on a four-wheel independent suspension with a Jaguar-style setup at the rear and adjustable coilovers at each corner. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with Wilwood calipers.

The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in black upholstery and Simpson latch-and-link harnesses are fitted for both occupants. Equipment includes a dash-mounted rearview mirror, wind wings, translucent sun visors, Superformance aluminum pedals, and a glove compartment.

The dashboard bears the signature of Carrol Shelby, and a certificate of authenticity is viewable in the gallery below.

The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a Smiths reverse-sweep 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 2,700 miles, approximately 100 of which have been added under current ownership.

The Roush 427SR V8 features a Dart aluminum block, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, equal-length exhaust headers, MSD ignition components, a “Road Race” front sump oil pan, a remote oil filter, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The car is titled using the frame stamp SP02854 shown above.
