This 1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2022 and involved fitting the 2.0-liter inline-four with dual Weber carburetors, overhauling the five-speed manual transmission, and refreshing the black interior. The car was then acquired by the current owner on BaT in September 2022, and subsequent work included replacing the oil pan gasket, tires, front brakes, and synchros in addition to installing a PerTronix ignition. The car has a black canvas convertible top, power-assisted disc brakes, 14″ wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a retro-style head unit. This S2 Spider is now on dealer consignment with a clean California title.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork was refinished in red under prior ownership and is equipped with a replacement black canvas convertible top, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, and a central exhaust outlet.
Eight-spoke 14″ wheels are mounted with 185/70 Kumho Solus tires that were installed following the owner’s acquisition. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension, a live rear axle, and anti-roll bars. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs. Additional work since 2022 reportedly involved replacing the front brakes and lower control arm bushings.
The cabin was refreshed under prior ownership, and the front bucket seats are trimmed in black with red piping. Appointments include a retro-style head unit linked to Kenwood speakers as well as a dashboard-mounted gearshift lever, an integrated center console, drilled pedals, and Alfa Romeo-branded floor mats.
The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts twin Jaeger instrumentation pods housing an 8k-rpm tachometer alongside a 140-mph speedometer as well as centrally mounted gauges indicating fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 99k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.0-liter inline-four is said to have been overhauled in 2021 and has been fitted with dual Weber 40 DCOE carburetors. Work since 2022 has involved installing a PerTronix ignition and replacing the oil pan gasket, per the selling dealer.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt in September 2021, and the driveshaft, clutch, clutch master cylinder, and exhaust were also replaced at that time. The dog ring, synchros, and transmission seals are said to have been replaced since 2022.
