This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette was reportedly refurbished in the early 1980s and was purchased by the seller in 2018. The car is finished in Jewel Blue over blue vinyl upholstery, and it features a body-color removable hardtop, a white convertible soft top, and white side coves. Power is provided by a 283ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes a four-barrel carburetor, a Wonder Bar AM radio, and a white shift knob. This C1 Corvette is now offered with an owner’s manual, car show awards, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The fiberglass body was reportedly refinished in Jewel Blue with Ermine White coves in the early 1980s, and features include a matching removable hardtop as well as a white soft top, quad headlights, and polished bumpers and trim.
The 15″ steel wheels feature simulated knock-off spinner covers and are mounted with 205/75R-15 Coker Classic whitewall tires. The car rides on independent front suspension with coil springs and a solid axle with leaf springs out back. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums.
The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in blue vinyl. Interior equipment includes a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a heater, a Wonder Bar AM radio, and an analog clock. The seller notes misalignment of the latch for the center glove box.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, amperage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 14k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership.
The 283ci V8 is equipped with a single four-barrel carburetor along with a chrome air cleaner and ignition cover. A photo of the engine stamping is shown in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
