This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was sold new at Bekrag Auto Sales of Orange, New Jersey and was acquired by the seller in 2022. Subsequent work involved rebuilding the carburetors and steering rack as well as replacing the brake master cylinder, exhaust system, engine and transmission mounts, alternator, and ignition components. The car is finished in Sable with a matching hardtop over beige leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a Sony receiver with Bluetooth, and a heater. This XKE roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Sable and exterior equipment includes a body-color hardtop, a black soft top, sealed-beam open headlights, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets. The taillights were replaced in 2022. Rust is noted in the driver’s floor, and close-up photos of the paint are provided in the gallery.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by earless knock-off hubs and are mounted with 215/70 Goodyear Reliant tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The brake master cylinder and brake pressure switch were replaced in 2022, at which time the steering rack was rebuilt.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in beige leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a Sony radio with Bluetooth, a locking glovebox, and a heater. Several rocker switches were replaced in 2022.

The replacement wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 28k miles, approximately 600 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. Work performed by Master Auto Service of Rockville, Maryland in 2022 included rebuilding the carburetors, repairing the wiring, adjusting the valves, renewing the valve springs, and replacing the engine and transmission mounts, battery and tray, alternator, drive belt, distributor, spark plugs, voltage regulator, ignition coil, fuel tank seal, oil pan gasket, fan relay, ignition switch, and starter relay.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A replacement stainless-steel exhaust system was also installed in 2022.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers and shows a dispatch date of November 19, 1968.

The original invoice lists the hardtop and other options along with a total price of $5,809.
