This 1988 Mazda RX-7 convertible was specified in Brilliant Black over black leather and is powered by a 1.3-liter Wankel rotary paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated black convertible top, pop-up headlights, 15″ BBS alloy wheels, power steering, an AM/FM/cassette/CD stereo, and cruise control. The car was initially sold in New York, and it was acquired by the seller and subsequently relocated to Virginia in March 2022, and it now shows 76k miles. This FC RX-7 convertible is now offered with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, service records, a sunshade, three sets of keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.

Convertible variants of the second-generation FC RX-7 featured an aluminum hood to save weight as well as a removable roof section as part of the power-operated convertible top. This example is finished in Brilliant Black (PZ) and features a black top boot, pop-up headlights, a power antenna, splash guards, and twin chrome exhaust outlets. Detailed exterior photos are provided in the gallery.

The 15″ BBS alloy wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Turanza EL400 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs. The car is equipped with power steering.

The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black leather, and features include an AM/FM/cassette/CD stereo, headrest speakers, an alarm system, and cruise control. The seller notes that the headrest speakers function intermittently and the left floor mat shows signs of wear.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 150-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 76k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.

The 1.3-liter 13B Wankel rotary was factory rated at 146 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. A fluids service was performed in July 2022, the spark plugs were replaced in May 2023, and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.

The window sticker lists delivery to Paolozzi’s Car World in Marcy, New York, along with factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $24,285.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other damage.
