This 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza convertible was acquired by the seller in 2023 following a two-decade refurbishment. Work consisted of repainting the body, rebuilding the engine, shifter tube, and carburetors, installing a revised camshaft, and replacing the convertible top, windshield, fuel tank, clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. Power is provided by a 164ci Turbo-Air flat-six paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and is finished in yellow over black vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a black convertible soft top, dual side mirrors, 14″ Vector-style wheels, front bucket seats, lap belts, a heater, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. This Corvair Monza convertible is now offered with service records and a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The car left the factory painted in Lemonwood Yellow (Y) and was refinished under prior ownership circa 2001. Exterior details include a black convertible soft top, quad headlights and taillights, dual side mirrors, and bright bumpers. The hood, rocker panels, doors, decklid, and windshield are said to have been replaced during the refurbishment.

The Vector-style 14″ wheels are mounted with 225/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires that were replaced recently. The Corvair utilized a fully independent suspension, and stopping power is provided by front and rear drum brakes. The suspension and brakes were serviced in 2023.

The front bucket seats and rear bench were re-trimmed in black vinyl upholstery under current ownership. Interior appointments include a floor-mounted shifter, a heater, a windshield defroster, lap belts, an AM/FM cassette stereo, black rubber floormats, and a center console with cup holders.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, manifold pressure, and cylinder head temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 7k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The rear-mounted, air-cooled 164ci Turbo-Air Special flat-six was rebuilt under prior ownership and features a revised camshaft and two single-barrel carburetors. A replacement oil pan, exhaust system, and high torque starter have been fitted, and the timing set was replaced and carburetors are said to have been tuned recently.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The shifter tube was rebuilt, the clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing were replaced under prior ownership, and the brake master cylinder was replaced in 2023.
