This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III is a running project that was sold new at Weaver Beatty Motor Co. of Denver, Colorado, and is said to have remained with the family of its original owner until the selling dealer’s acquisition in 2024. Finished in ivory over red upholstery, the car has spent approximately two decades in storage and requires service before being driven. The 2.9-liter inline-six is linked with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, a luggage rack, a burl wood veneer dashboard, Smiths instrumentation, and 15” wire wheels. This BJ8 project is now offered with initial purchase documents, spare parts, tools, and a clean Colorado title.
The body is finished in ivory and features a bullet-style side mirror, a luggage rack, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The plastic window in the black soft top is cloudy, and rust is noted in the rocker panels and lower quarter panels. Paint chips, dings, and deterioration around the car can be viewed in the gallery along with pitted brightwork and cracked and faded taillight lenses.
Painted 15” knock-off wire wheels wear two-eared spinners and are mounted with older 165-series Michelin X tires. The front disc brakes and rear drums are untested and require service.
The cabin is trimmed in red vinyl upholstery that is torn and damaged. The carpets have deteriorated and are covered with black rubber floor mats. Cracks are visible in the burl wood veneer dashboard.
The banjo-style steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles.
The 2.9-liter inline-six features dual SU carburetors and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. A video showing the engine running is presented below.

A security agreement issued by Weaver Beatty Motor Co. of Denver, Colorado is dated December 21, 1967 and shows a total cash price of $3,979.85.
A Motorola AM radio will accompany the car along with a workshop manual, tools, and spare parts.
