This 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL was acquired by the current owner in 1993, and it is powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in white over black leather and equipped with a removable hardtop, a black convertible top, an AM/FM radio, and 13″ steel wheels. This 190SL is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with New York registration in the owner’s name.

The car came finished from the factory in white (DB50) and features a replacement black convertible soft top. The removable body-color hardtop is shown at the end of the gallery, and additional equipment includes a driver-side mirror, a retractable antenna, and a bright windshield surround, grille, and bumpers. Work in 2017 included rust repairs around the rear wheel well area and replacing the floor boards. The right taillight lens is cracked, and there are paint cracks on the left rear quarter panel, around the fuel filler, and below the soft top.

The steel 13″ wheels wear chrome trim rings, hubcaps with body-color centers, and older 185/70 Delta Radial whitewall tires. The car is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension, rear swing axles with coil springs, and power-assisted drum brakes. There is rust on the wheels.

The cabin features low-back bucket seats upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated door panels and dashboard trim. Amenities include a Becker Mexico AM/FM radio, lap belts, an analog clock, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. The front carpets are missing and there is rust in the spare tire well.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 27k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.

The 1.9-liter M121 inline-four was factory rated at 104 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque. A replacement fuel tank was installed and the engine mounts were replaced in 2015.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission. The muffler is secured with a rope, reportedly due to a broken clamp.
