This 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza convertible was acquired by the owner in 2024 following a 2023 refurbishment. Work consisted of retrimming the interior, overhauling the brakes, and replacing the soft top and suspension components. Power is provided by a rear-mounted 164ci Turbo-Air flat-six paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and the car is finished in red over black vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a beige convertible soft top, a black soft top boot, 13″ steel wheels, front bucket seats, a padded dashboard, lap belts, a heater, and a windshield defroster. This Corvair Monza convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a salvage California title.

The car is finished in red and exterior equipment includes a beige convertible soft top, a black soft top boot, a silver tail panel, quad headlights and taillights, and bright bumpers with overriders. The convertible top is said to have been replaced during the refurbishment. Corrosion is noted on the lower corner of both doors.

The 13″ steel wheels feature five-spoke wheel covers and are mounted with 185/80 Maxxis M-A1 white-stripe tires. The Corvair utilized a fully independent suspension, and stopping power is provided by front and rear drum brakes. The brake master cylinder, brake shoes, ball joints, tie rod ends, shock absorbers, and rubber suspension bushings are said to have been replaced under prior ownership.

The front bucket seats and rear bench were reupholstered in black vinyl under prior ownership. A Corsa-style padded dashboard has been fitted, and additional interior elements include a heater, a windshield defroster, a floor-mounted shifter, and lap belts. The radio is missing.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer and gauges for fuel level, manifold pressure, and cylinder head temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles, approximately 280 of which were added under current ownership.

The rear-mounted, air-cooled 164ci Turbo-Air flat-six features four single-barrel carburetors with conical air filters and was factory rated at 140 horsepower and 160 lb-ft of torque. An engine bay fire occurred under previous ownership and images of the fire and refurbishment are displayed in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.

Decoding the Fisher body tag reveals:
