No Reserve: Fuel-Injected 289-Powered 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint Convertible Project

This 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint convertible was purchased by the seller’s father in the 1980s and subsequently fitted with a 289ci V8 from a 1965 model. The engine was later fitted with a fuel-injection system and was acquired by the seller in 2004. Finished in white over blue, the car is also equipped with a two-speed automatic transmission, a white convertible soft top, 14″ body-color steel wheels with wire covers, vent windows, chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, a Pioneer stereo, and front bucket seats. The car has not been driven in the last five years, and service will be required prior to use. This Falcon Sprint convertible is now offered at no reserve with a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.

The car was finished from the factory in Wimbledon White and has been repainted. It features a replacement white convertible soft top, a driver-side mirror, and chrome bumpers. The seller notes prior accident repairs and rust on various panels. The taillights do not work, and the right-side Sprint emblem has been removed but is included in the sale.

The 14″ body-color steel wheels wear faux wire covers and are mounted with Hankook Mileage Plus whitewall tires measuring 185/70 that require replacement. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners.

The refreshed cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in two-tone blue pleated vinyl, and interior equipment includes a center console, a glovebox-mounted Pioneer stereo, seatbelts, and front vent windows. The aftermarket air conditioning does not work.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer as well as gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 3,500 miles, less than 300 of which were added under current ownership. True milage is unknown.

The 289ci is said to have been sourced from a 1965 Falcon and was installed in the 1980s. A fuel-injection system has been added, and the seller notes that the fuel pump requires replacement and that the engine runs rough at start-up. Other items needing attention include the engine seals and battery.
