This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette underwent a refurbishment under previous ownership that involved refinishing it in red over a Fawn interior and installing a fuel-injected 350ci Ram Jet V8 crate engine mated to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission. Additional modifications include Jim Meyer Racing suspension components, front disc brakes, power rack-and-pinion steering, an Old Air Products climate-control system, Dakota Digital gauges, and power windows. This modified C1 was acquired by the current owner on BaT in September 2022 and is now offered in Florida on dealer consignment with product and brand literature, a body-color removable hardtop with stand, and a clean Montana title.
The car was repainted in red with white side coves under previous ownership. The frame was also refinished and the underside, wheel wells, engine compartment, and trunk were coated with tinted LineX textured bedliner. A replacement white convertible soft top is fitted and a body-color removable hardtop is included in the sale.
Red-painted 15″ steel wheels wear full spinner-style wheel covers and whitewall tires. A matching spare is retained in the trunk. Disc brakes are fitted up front, and further updates include a power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering setup and Jim Meyer Racing-sourced front suspension components.
Bucket seats reupholstered in Fawn vinyl are accompanied by color-keyed replacements for the door panels and carpeting. The car is equipped with a dashboard-mounted mirror, power windows, and lap belts, and additions include an Old Air Products climate-control system, air conditioning, and a vintage-style stereo equipped with an auxiliary input.
Dakota Digital gauges are fitted in place of the factory instruments. The digital odometer indicates 2,100 miles, which is said to represent the mileage accrued since the completion of the build. Less than 200 were added under current ownership.
The 350ci Chevrolet Performance V8 crate engine was installed during the refurbishment and features a Ram Jet port fuel-injection system, a centralized air intake, and polished center-bolt valve covers. Replacement electrical wiring was installed along with a DeWitts aluminum radiator, an electric cooling fan, and a stainless-steel fuel tank equipped with an in-tank pump. Stainless headers are linked to a dual exhaust system.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential.
The steering column featuring the factory serial number tag was replaced, and the state of Washington assigned the identification number 10867S100262 under previous ownership. This is the number listed as the VIN on the current Montana title, and it is consistent with a 1961 Corvette.
Manuals and additional literature are included in the sale.
