This 1964 MG MGB Roadster was reportedly sold new at Al Filippone Foreign Cars of Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, and is said to have remained with a single family until 2019. Powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, the car is finished in Chelsea Gray over red leather. It also features a red soft top, a decklid luggage rack, fender-mounted mirrors, front disc brakes, and black-finished 14″ wire-spoke wheels with knock-off hubs as well as a Nardi steering wheel, an AM radio, and a heater. Recently acquired by the selling dealer, this MGB is offered at no reserve with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, service records, and a clean Florida title.
The car is finished in Chelsea Gray, and the selling dealer states that paintwork has been performed on the pinch welds as well as a section of the aluminum hood. Exterior details include a red soft top, a decklid-mounted luggage rack, fender-mounted mirrors, and chrome-finished bumpers.
Wire-spoke 14″ wheels were powder-coated black and mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires under previous ownership. A spare wheel and tire are located in the trunk. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums.
The bucket seats are trimmed in red leather, and color-coordinated trim covers the door panels. Appointments include a locking glove box, a passenger-side map pocket, an AM radio, and a heater. Photos show a tear, cracks, and discoloration on the driver’s seat.
The Nardi steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges displaying oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles.
The 1.8-liter inline-four was factory-equipped with twin SU carburetors and was rated at 95 horsepower and 110 lb-ft of torque. The carburetors were adjusted under previous ownership, and the selling dealer states that the fluids were changed in September 2024.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists a production date of September 17, 1963, along with identification numbers, colors, and equipment. Partial service records are also included in the sale.
