This 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible was purchased by the seller in 2001 and underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2008. The car is finished in white with a matching power-operated soft top over black and white leather upholstery, and power comes from a 365ci V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes twin four-barrel carburetors, a gold-painted ‘batwing’ air cleaner, 15″ Sabre wheels, power-assisted brakes and steering, a power-operated white convertible top with a matching parade boot, power windows, air conditioning, a six-way power-adjustable front bench seat, an Autronic Eye headlight dimmer, a push-button AM radio, and a heater. This Eldorado Biarritz convertible is now offered with refurbishment photos and transferable New York registration.

A total of 1,800 Eldorado Biarritz convertibles were built for the model year. The Fleetwood-built bodywork on this example was removed from the frame and repainted in white during the 2008 refurbishment. Chrome trim accents the bumpers, wheel arches, grille, window surrounds, and tail fins. A power-operated white convertible top and a matching parade boot are fitted, and additional features include hooded headlights, gold badging, a curved windshield, windshield washers, a remote-controlled driver-side mirror, a power-operated antenna, vent windows, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear bumper.

Chrome-finished 15″ Sabre wheels wear red reflective Cadillac center caps and are mounted with US Royal Safety 800 bias-ply whitewall tires. A matching spare wheel is stowed under a cover in the trunk. The car was delivered from the factory with power-assisted steering and four-wheel drum brakes.

The front and rear bench seats are upholstered in black and white leather and complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a six-way power-adjustable front bench with a folding center armrest as well as air conditioning, a push-button signal seeking AM radio, a clock, a padded dashboard, a dash-mounted Autronic Eye headlight dimmer, and a remote trunk release in the glovebox.

The black and white two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 120-mph sweep speedometer, a fuel level gauge, and a coolant temperature gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, approximately 900 of which were added after the 2008 refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown.

The 365ci V8 was overhauled during the 2008 refurbishment and features twin four-barrel carburetors as well as a gold-painted ‘batwing’ air cleaner and valve covers. Output was factory rated at 325 horsepower.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.

The trim tag decodes as follows:

  • Style: 57 – 6267SX – Eldorado Biarritz two-door convertible with power windows
  • Body: FW1661 – Fleetwood Assembly Plant
  • Trim: 10 – Black and white leather upholstery
  • Paint: 90 – Olympic White paint
  • Top: 2 – Black convertible top
  • Acc. PH – Optional rear axle ratio, heater

A collection of photos taken during the 2008 refurbishment can be seen in the gallery.

The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for vehicles of its age. It is being sold on its transferable New York registration.
