This 1994 Porsche 911 Speedster was built in May 1993 and is one of 936 examples produced between 1992 and 1994, just 427 of which were built for the US market. The car was purchased in May 2004 by the current owner, who added approximately 2k of the 20k miles shown. It is finished in Guards Red with a black soft top, and power comes from a 3.6-liter flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 17″ Cup alloy wheels, a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top cover panel, a speed-activated rear spoiler, an Alpine CD stereo, Kenwood speakers, air conditioning, and fixed-back Recaro seats upholstered in a mix of black and Pearl Grey leatherette. The lower valve cover gaskets, drive belts, front shocks, tires, and the convertible top boot struts were replaced in preparation for the sale. This 911 Speedster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner in Pennsylvania with a Porsche Production Specification Sheet, the owner’s manual, a service invoice, a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The 964 Speedster features a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top cover panel, a shorter windshield than that of the contemporary cabriolet, and a manually operated top mechanism. This example is finished in Guards Red with a black soft top, fog lights, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and a single exhaust outlet. The front hood emblem and the convertible top boot struts and release cable were replaced in December 2023. There are creases in the soft top and the seller notes a run of superglue down the passenger-side door. Photos depicting paint-meter readings are provided in the gallery.
Staggered-width 17″ Cup alloy wheels are mounted with Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires that were installed in December 2023. Braking is handled by black Porsche-script calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. The front shocks, bump stops, and strut tops were replaced along with the rear trailing arm bushings and the brake fluid in December 2023.
Fixed-back Recaro bucket seats with body-color shells are trimmed in black leatherette with Pearl Grey inserts while red accents can be found on the door handles, shift and parking brake levers, and gauge cluster surround. Additional interior details include an Alpine CD stereo linked to Kenwood speakers as well as door pull straps, power windows, cruise control, and air conditioning that has been converted to utilize R134a refrigerant. The Speedster was not equipped with rear seats. A blower motor resistor and relay along with the glove box lock were replaced in December 2023.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline flanked by a 180-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 20k miles. The oil temperature and pressure gauge was replaced in December 2023.
The 3.6-liter flat-six was factory rated at 247 horsepower and 228 lb-ft of torque. The lower valve cover gaskets, drive belts, the engine oil, and the battery were replaced in December 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. A clutch hydraulic hose and the clutch fluid were replaced in December 2023.
The Porsche Production Specifications certificate lists factory colors and equipment as well as a production completion date in May 1993.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other damage. At least one open manufacturer recall is noted.
