No Reserve: 1998 Porsche Boxster 5-Speed

This 1998 Porsche Boxster is a triple-black example powered by a 2.5-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car has remained registered in the Midwest since new and now has under 58k miles. Equipment includes a replacement black soft top, 17″ Carrera-look twist-spoke wheels, a speed-activated rear spoiler, cruise control, a Hi-Fi sound system, and a Kenwood stereo with Bluetooth. Recently acquired by the current owner, this 986 Boxster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner, a retail dealer in Wisconsin, at no reserve with the owner’s manual, a 2015 Blackstone Laboratories oil report, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Wisconsin title.

The car is finished in black (741) and features a power-operated black soft top that is said to have been replaced. Additional features include side air intakes, roll hoops, and a speed-activated rear spoiler with an aftermarket finisher. The seller notes evidence of paintwork on the body as well as chips, scuffs, and scratches, some of which have been touched up.

The 17″ Carrera-look twist-spoke wheels are mounted with Kumho tires measuring 205/50 up front and 255/40 out back. The left-rear wheel has curb marks and the center caps have faded finish. Braking is handled by four-piston Porsche-branded calipers fitted over vented rotors at all four corners.

The cabin features seats upholstered in black leather complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Features include a Kenwood stereo with Bluetooth connectivity as well as a Hi-Fi sound system, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The shift boot is worn.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a central tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates under 58k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the selling dealer. The seller notes that the rear spoiler warning light remains illuminated.

The mid-mounted 2.5-liter M96 flat-six was factory rated at 201 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque.
